Co-Managing Directors appointed in Indonesia



Fremantle announced today a new leadership structure for their production business in Indonesia. Indriena Basarah has confirmed that after 22 years leading the powerhouse company in the region, she is stepping back from her duties as President throughout 2019.

Replacing Indriena will be two Co-Managing Directors, currently GM New Media & Digital, Sakti Parantean and GM Production & Development, Victor Ariesza. Sakti and Victor will take joint responsibility for the editorial, strategy and continued growth of Fremantle in Indonesia. Both will report to Fremantle’s CEO Asia Pacific, Chris Oliver-Taylor.

Indriena Basarah, President – Indonesia, Fremantle, said: “I have had an amazing time at Fremantle and am thrilled to hand over the reins to two of my talented colleagues in Sakti and Victor. Under their leadership, I have no doubt that Fremantle will continue to have an incredibly strong production presence in Indonesia, and I look forward to remaining involved in a non-executive role.”
Indonesia is a vital part of the global Fremantle production strategy. With a significant population, strong FTA market and increasing investment by SVOD players in Indonesia, Fremantle will continue to leverage its incredible track record going back over 20 years.

Fremantle is currently preparing for Series 10 of the incredibly successful Indonesian Idol, premiering later this year. In 2018 Indonesian Idol reached an amazing 1billion YOUTUBE views cumulatively. Indonesia is serving as the hub producer for Confetti Vietnam, Confetti Phillippinesand Confetti Thailandas part of Fremantle’s production partnership with Facebook Watch. Family Feud continues to be a success after more than 20 historic years on air. Indonesia also produces phenomenal global talent with Indonesian act The Sacred Riana becoming the most-watched video of all-time on Facebook after her appearance on Asia’s Got Talent.

Indriena’s last day as President will be May 30th 2019. Indriena will remain part of the Fremantle family in a non-executive role. Victor and Sakti will take on the Co-Managing Director roles in April, 2019.
